Boudicca & David Adjaye were commisioned by Vogue UK to design a dress.

From the outset of the project, both ourselves and David made the decision that we wanted to create something that was new and challenging for both parties. We wanted to create a dress that would reside somewhere in-between Architecture and Fashion. Our aim was to find the dress within the process of each our chosen disciplines. During a series of meetings we both collated images and ideas, which led us wanting to create a space, that when you enter has an energy around you. The Fabric moves creating movement – The Dress is static – The Architecture creates the movement. The Dress is as much concerned with the negative space as the positive. mapping out a space where planes, shapes and silhouette are defined within the intersection of the lines. A construction, which through perspective, journeys your eyes to find shape and form within the structure.
